Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay in Zaoonsen, I was impressed by the harmonious blend of traditional and modern elements at my chosen accommodation. The location is conveniently situated just minutes from the ski resort and a short walk to the village, making it easy to access numerous facilities, including ski/snowboard rentals. The suite provided a clean and comfortable environment, essential for winding down after a day on the slopes. The staff were accommodating and communicated well in English, which made my experience seamless. The hotel facilities included lockers and a vending machine, which supplemented the overall convenience. The dining experience was enjoyable, albeit with some limitations. The breakfast options, while satisfactory, were somewhat limited, offering a modest selection of both Japanese and Western dishes. Dinner was a highlight, featuring various courses and a different menu each evening, except for Sunday’s Kaiseki offering exclusively. The free shuttle service to the bus terminal was a pleasant perk. The hotel facilitated a satisfactory stay, positioning itself as a solid option for visitors seeking a blend of culture and comfort in the heart of the beautiful Yamagata region.
